wunnin'

Well, we have officially started recording the new Caedmon's Call album. I spent eleven hours at the studio today, and it was a good day. I ended up playing bass on the two songs we tracked yesterday, and will work on electrics on those songs tomorrow. I love playing bass. If you want to hire me to play for you, just call me. I'd love to.
I brought my camera today so I could take pictures to share with you, but I didn't have time to get it out, it was such a busy day. So I'll try to get some up tomorrow and for today, here's one from earlier this week. My birthday was Tuesday, the weather was incredible, and I took most of the day off to spend with my family. Ella was very excited to go wunnin' (i.e. running) outside, so we ran around the yard for a long time. It was great.

Many thanks to all of you involved in the discussion from the past couple of posts. I have more thoughts, as usual, but I'm going to shelve them for a few weeks while I keep reading yours. I'll be back there soon, no worries.
For now, though, the house is quiet. Both girls are asleep, which won't last long, and Alison went to Target with a friend. I'm going to try to stay awake through whatever TV show I need to catch up on is first on the tape. Probably The Office. More tomorrow from the studio...

I know this guy who'd be happy to take photos tomorrow with his camera, or your camera, or your mom's camera, or ... ;)
Awesome.
Oscar party sunday? No pressure...
I am so pumped for you guys and this upcoming Caedmon's album. I guess you could say it feels like from your posts that it's a bit of a "new beginning" so to speak.
Hopefully will get some snippets in the coming months.
Please?
Pretty please?
Happy belated birthday, Andy. Looks like you had fun. I'd love to be a fly on the wall in the studio.
yes, song snippets would be awesome... :)
This is actually a cumulative response to the past few posts. While I understand the frustrations raised, I think we need to desperately cling to the so-called "exceptions" in the world. There are exceptions in Christian music, secular music, politics, etc. While the stigma is no doubt undesirable, the "remnant" is unfortunately left with picking apart a faulty, ugly system from within. I teach at a private "Christian school" and see the same things you do from a different vantage point. We turn our heads and shake our fingers when we see un-Christian behavior, sometimes refusing to acknowledge that these students are still human. In America, we expect Christianity not only to be endorsed through popular mediums but we also assume that the persecution of true Christianity is a thing of the past. What we see now is just a much more potent and subtle form of truth being "burned at the stake." If the true faith is seen through the humility of poor sinners, the best we can ever expect to be is the exception. Thanks Andy!
Where are you tracking the new Caedmon's record? Is this being done in the Eagle?
Also, I've been looking forward to your Lost commentary. Have you been watching Heroes?
"Wunnin." Funny stuff--and cuter than cute. No doubt, you have already realized Andy, that you will be mispronouncing those words for the rest of your life. My son is 23 and (to his chagrin) we still refer to apartments as "repartments" and hamburgers as "hang-guh-bers." The cutest was, "Daddy wanna carry you?," as in, "Daddy, please carry me." You are making endearing moments every day, buddy. Enjoy it while it's still hear. Truly, it goes WAY too fast.

Hey- you stole my line! If Jeff or Trip can't make the session/tour/show in or near Maryland, give ME a call! Not that you aren't capable, but your guitars would sit there all lonely-like while you pound out the lowdown. Or I could keep them warm while you're bassing... just a thought!
