New Beginning

For Christmas this year I decided to give you guys a song off of my record. Some of you have it already, I know, and so it's not a big deal, but to those of you who haven't bought it or heard it (which you can for free right here) I'm giving you a song.
In honor of Christmas, the New Year and my new baby girl, I thought track 13, New Beginning would be appropriate.
If you want to help me out this Christmas, I'd love it if you'd take this song and send it to your friends. Leave it on your desktop and send it to people you instant message with. Add it to your e-mails. Let people know about this guy whose music you listen to and/or whose blog you read. It would be wonderful for me, and I think it could be a powerful song for people this time of year.
I told you how I wrote some new lyrics for the third verse last week and now seems like a great time to post them...
I'm tired of being an angry man
I've hid inside for far too long,
you kept your vow and held my hand
while I looked for God in rhyme and song,
our girls are dancing in their dreams,
the promise of a better life,
I want to be a father full of grace
and a loving husband to my wife...
Thank you guys again for allowing me, and my friends, to do what we do. I am continually humbled and grateful. I'm thrilled to be working on a good amount of Spring tour dates, so hopefully my songs and I can connect with you in person soon. I hope you guys enjoy this song.

TOTALLY DIG THE NEW LYRICS MAN!!!!!
in the last version I always thought you were singing "in the other room, my baby's dancing", then I finally read the liner notes and realized it was inside her womb. So this is better in several ways, but mainly because I don't think of that internet dancing baby when I listen to the song.
When I first heard "New Beginning" my wife had just given birth to our first baby, a little girl, so the original lyrics resonated with me big time! But the new ones are awesome! On so many levels, they resonate with me. As a new dad who is struggling to follow God, love his wife, and love his daughter, I feel like you're writing about me! That's the beauty of your songs, to me. You take your own personal experience, and write about it in a way that makes us all feel like the songs are about us. Thanks man! I'm telling everybody I can to check out the tunes!
You said it better than I have been able to thus far.

Yeah, the original lyrics said "in her womb," but Andy frequently sang "in the living room" live.
I love the new verse, Andy. You're right. The song does seem more complete now.
Can't download the song 'til I get home from work, but you can be sure I'll spread the word far and wide.
I sing the praises of all you Square Peggers any chance I get.
I always liked the "inside her womb my baby's dancing" line, but I think this rewrite is an overall improvement in the song.
The new verse sounded really good when you played it at the Ryman, especially with that pause right after the verse before "a new beginning..."
Thanks for the tunes, Andrew. I'll be sure to let the four people who read my blog know about it.
Merry Christmas!
you can count on me spreading the word, brother. The new lyrics rock. I am looking forward to what you will be doing this spring. Count on me to spread the word in Washington.
I like it man... liked the old ones too... you could probably write a song in Esperanto and I would still love it.
Somehow you have this talent to make an amazing song even better. Kudo's to you amigo. Way to keep even your own art in the refiner's fire.

i think the new lyrics are great, but the original ones aren't too shabby either.
