Creepy dreams in Pennsylvania
Sunday, February 24, 2008 at 12:12AM
Spinal Tap's playing on the bus. That means it's a good night. We're in Pennsylvania now. Just had a great show here tonight, and tomorrow we have another one about an hour away. Which is nice.
The Andy and the Andys show the other night might have actually been a little too fun. I played bass the whole show, which was super fun, and we did nine songs, the six of our "band" songs and an original of each of ours. I felt like Timothy B. Schmitt singing lead with a bass on, which was helpfully inspiring.
I know some people took pictures from both my Birthday Jam and the Andy and the Andys show, so when I get them I'll post them. If anybody has some from tonight's Caedmon's show as well, I'd love to post them.
I redid my pedalboard while I'm waiting for one last piece to come in the mail, since it had been shorting out a few weeks ago. I'll try to grap a picture and show you, but I'm loving it right now. Swapped out compressors and I've been having fun trying to use it as little as possible, just for a change. It's always a good challenge to take the thing you use the most and try to not use it at all. Keeps me learning and trying new things.
My flu has turned into more of a weird head-cold/giant fog. Everything just sort of feels swimmy, but I'm able to pull off a show, so that's good. I took a nap this afternoon and had the weirdest dream. I was in a high-school musical and sneaking around backstage with my brother. Everywhere we went there were creepy old ladies just standing and watching us from deep in the shadows. The scariest part was that they were all like two feet tall. Eerie.
Well, I'm going to try and get some good sleep tonight. I was up a little too late last night because I got Ender's Game for my friend and I couldn't help but read it again. So good.
Thanks to everybody who came out to the show tonight. Hope to see you again tomorrow!

I will see you on Sunday night! Winging in from the Music City!!!!! WITH GEAR!
You should totally write a weird-sounding song about that dream.
Sounds like lots of fun... except for the sick part. Get better soon.
The show was great last night!
What compressor are you using now [when you do use it]?
Feel better dude!
Exciting show last night. The stories about your dreams, Pride and Prejudice and your daughter's diapers were very funny. Thanks for a great show.
Really great show last night. Best concert my wife and I have ever seen; it is so amazing the amount of talent on the same stage. Feel better man!
Andy, the concert tonight (2/24/08) was fantastic, even with your cold. My wife and I just wanted it to keep going and going. Thank you for sharing your life through song with us. When I get the chance I'm finally going to snag 'the morning' off of this here website (since you didn't bring copies with you -- I don't blame you, I'm just as forgetful sometimes, especially when i'm sick). But thank you so much, you and the band, for all of the amazing music you pour out from your souls. You all were rocking tonight and we could have listened to you for at least 2 more hours (if your voices could have held out that long!)
Grace and Peace to you!
Andy, the concert in new holland was wonderful. i went with my daughter, and how you made us laugh! somehow you made it through sick and all and sounded GREAT. love the new songs and want to thank you for all the terrific songs you have written, with randall also, it was fun to see you, and just want to mention, sometimes your guitar riffs move me as much as the lyrics!
feel better, and thank you for the laughs and songs!
You were in A highschool musical or Highschool Musical?
My husband and I were at the show over the weekend, and we loved it! I've posted http://www.flickr.com/photos/definitelyra/sets/72157603979670809/" rel="nofollow">pictures and added them to the "Caedmon's Call in concert" Flickr stream.
Also, I think your marketing efforts work! We downloaded your free tracks as soon as we could, and it's just a matter of time until we pick up the records.
Best wishes for a great trip home!
Hey Andy, great show Saturday night(2/23)! We have been fans of Caedmon's Call for years and I love the addition of your talents and abilities to the band. Thanks for sharing your music with us. I just want to encourage you to continue to share truth through your music. It was a very uplifting/encouraging night. I think it helps to put worship in perspective like Cliff was saying. I know it encouraged me to not only closer examine how I lead worship(music) on Sunday mornings but how I worship in my daily life. Blessings to you and your family and hope you are all feeling better very soon. Hope the "flu cloud" leave Nashville soon
i had a dream this morning that my wife and i had another baby, but she didn't want me stressing out (i never stress out, btw) so she had them knock me out until it was over. when i woke up, i had no idea if we had a boy or girl or what name my wife had given. i told the nurse to bring me "baby blake" and she brought me a little boy who's first name was blake. i said "no... blake's the last name" and she swapped him out for a little girl. woke up still not knowing her name...
weird.
Andy...the shows were amazing. Thanks for being enough of a professional to entertain while you were feeling so crappy. =)
Also, I have a picture of your pedalboard...I'll put it online somewhere in a few minutes, and I guess I'll put a link up here.

The pedalboard picture is on there. You're welcome to it, but it's not a very professional angle or anything.
Oh, and thanks for reminding me how much I need to rewatch Battlestar Galactica. Ahhhhhh!
Andy, I just wanted to tell you how much I enjoyed your performance in New Holland 2-23. I really enjoyed your solo songs and listened to your CD on the way home! It was great to meet you. I hope you feel better soon...I totally understand the whole sickness fog, you did so much better than I would have Saturday. You bring so much to Caedmon's Call as well. I hope you have a good time with your family at home.
Hey Andy, I just saw you at the Caedmon's Call show, and I have to say that I couldn't have had a better time. I was in the second row in the center and it was an absolute blast. Your songs are absolutely amazing, my favorite being Early in the Morning, as well as Hold the Light. Both of them are absolutely brilliant. I write myself, and listening to your music reminds me just how awesome songwriting can really be!
Thanks again for a great show and the awesome music! I bought your CD and have downloaded the E.P. and am loving all of it. God Bless!
I tried posting this earlier and got flagged as a spammer. =(
In any case, my photos from both shows (mainly the Langhorne one), including the one shot of the pedalboard, can be found at http://picasaweb.google.com/petergaultney/CaedmonSShowsPennsylvaniaFebruary2008
Well, fine, it won't let me post links. Or something. But in any case, I posted pictures on my Google Photos account, and you can find the link on my blog. And like I say, there's a picture of your pedalboard in there.
