life goals

To be honest, I've been a lukcy guy. I've been in two bands I loved for a living. I've had an arena hold up cel phones and sing along to just me and my guitar. Don Chaffer called to tell me he liked one of my records.

The other day I was eating with Paul at his Chipotle headquarters in Ft. Worth and he asked me what my goals were. I had to think for a minute. I want to be a good husband and dad and I'd like to not be as broke as I usually am, but as far as concrete goals go, I could only think of two.

1. I want to play on Conan.

2. I want an honorary degree.

Aim high, kids, aim high.

An honorary degree in what though?

here's what we'll do. we'll go to NYC, we'll find conan and take him down when he's not looking. you can jump on his back with your guitar and knock out a few bars of "High School Band" and then we'll hightail it out of there before we're arrested.

lifegoals:

1. To see AndyO live on Conan.

2. Avoid getting an honorary degree. (where I work they seem to be a-dime-a-dozen.

Andy will be the first to recieve an honorary degree as soon as Bobes University is founded.

With any amount of lukc, I am sure that honorary degree is on the way. I mean, it has got to be in English or Journalism or copy editing or something, it you are lukcy enough. As for Conan, I would go for Craig Ferguson... he has a cool accent.

"I want to be a good husband and dad"

Those sound like pretty concrete goals to me...

Hey A,
Never too late to get a "real" degree. I was a (full-time) freshman at 31 (with 4 kids). It takes some heavy-duty time management, but it's doable.

"Real goals" are overrated. They usually involve money and success - two things that are overrated and a part of a world that rots (where moths and rust destroy) ...

I'm starting with this one: Where do I want my relationship with God to be in two-five years? How does that look?

I like the family goals too. Good stuff.

ps. Self-righteous "Christianese" aside - Conan would be sweet.

I think you should get an honorary degree in Awesomeness from the School of Rock.

And if you ever play on Conan, I want to be the guy jumping around with a shaker in the background ike the guy in Beck's band. Make it so!

Andrew,

One of my life goals was to spend time with Willie Nelson. Cason did it instead.

Thursday night, Cason plays on Conan.

Cason is usurping our life goals.

I want A&E to make a "Biography" of me.
