the question

I know what you're all thinking. I can hear the question just begging to be left as a comment.
"Andy, what should I do tonight at 7pm Eastern?"
Well, I don't want to be that guy who tells you what to do. This ain't your Daddy's blog. Unless, of course, I actually AM your Daddy. In which case, when did you learn to work the internet?
I digress. Kris Love, a dj at Love89, a radio station in Knoxville, is doing a whole segment on my music tonight. I am doing some interview and they're playing a bunch of songs. It's for a program called Detour: Music off the Beaten Path. You can listen to it online at their website: www.love89.org. My solo stuff doesn't get a lot of radio play, so this is a pretty cool deal.
I thanked Kris for helping me out and he kindly replied that he was excited and that he's been "telling people all week, I feel like a ten-year-old who gets to meet Nick Lachey."
Which just keeps me up at night thinking, do people really like my music or do they just think it's cool that I was on a reality show?

You were on a reality show?!
I guess that means I jsut really like your music.
Because I have no clue what the reality show comment is about.
i believe he means the reality show that mr. lachey was on. the show that he failed to mention resides in our dvd collection.
Busted.
no no, I meant the one I starred in. On VH1. Isn't that where you all heard about me?
VH1? Mr. Lachey? What the heck? I'm lost!!! I haven't heard of any of these shows or what nots...I've only heard of Andrew Osenga :) Hey Andrew, do you ever visit other's blogs? Just curious
Dude. That's where I recognized you... On VH1. Amazing.
Now c'mon, Andy. Kris Love at LOVE89??
You're making that up. Or he is.
I suppose a clearer thing for me to say would have been, I feel like a 10 year old girl getting to talk the boy bander of her choice, or a parrot head getting to meet Jimmy Buffet. I meant basically that I'm a big Andy O fan. Although I did enjoy the VH1 show.
And no that is my real name, my momma and daddy gave it to me.
I'm listening now. I cannot believe I just heard "coming to life" and now "We Go On" ....all on the radio!!!.
Hey Andy- listening to you on the radio right now- very cool! I have yet to get the last Normals record but after hearing "We go on" I must have it! Great song! I'm also extremely stoked that Kris played "White Dove" which is probably my favorite tune on your new record except for "Early in the Morning" which is fantastic! Thanks for the heads up on your radio appearance- I hope you and yours are super blessed!
Peace,
Tom
WOW!
This is so cooool! It is so great to hear your music on "mainstream" Christian radio. Not that I listen to it much, but it is so cool! However, since Kris decided to highlight YOU, I have bookmarked the radio station in my favorites on my computer and will definately tune in again next Sunday! I love the stories behind the songs. We don't hear much of that in the blog (hint! hint!)
"Which just keeps me up at night thinking, do people really like my music or do they just think it’s cool that I was on a reality show?"
I don't know "nothin" bout no reality show, however, I can answer the other part of your question. Yes, Andy, there ARE people that really like your music. Even perfect strangers! Even middle class, middle aged, working stiffs from CA. like me (Whom you have never met). So, now you can say that you have reached the middle class, middle aged, working stiffs!
Do people really like your music? Not really. I just buy the CD's for the cover art. And the ones I buy for friends are because, well, they can appreciate good cover art too.
I was unable to hear the radio glory tonight. The computer that I am on loads things pretty slowly. I couldn't get Windows Media to load. Which is why Macs reign. They kick some serious slow-loading-media-player bootay.
Anydangway.
But I hope it went well tonight! Judging by some of the previous comments it looks like it was a success!
Kris, wonderful job on the interview and great questions. I've often wondered what that "same sad song" was. Thanks for finding out and for doing the artist spotlight.
Andy, I've wondered since I got The Morning who "White Dove" was about. I even meant to ask you that at the concert in Ft. Worth, but I forgot. The song makes so much sense now.
so, what _was_ the "same sad song?"
And is there a recording anywhere around of the interview from the show? :)
Kris: If you have a pristine recording, I'd love to have it to share with the folks. I'll leave all your station breaks and advertisements in there to preserve the love for your sponsors.
Andy didn't remember what that "same sad song" was, but he did day it was probably off one of The Choir's albums. I think he said Circle Slide, but I'm not sure. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.
