The Gist of the E-mail

Well, I just sent out my first mailing list email blast in over a year. Lame, I know. Anyway, I thought I'd put the guts of it up here for those who haven't signed up yet. (What are you waiting for?!)

Basically, I told a bit about not working with Caedmon's right now and that I'm pursuing my solo music and production...

----

So what does pursuing my solo music and production mean? It means three things:

1. My new tunes on BriteRevolution.com

2. I'm starting to book solo shows for the Fall. If you're interested in having me in to your school, church, club, coffeehouse, etc... we'd love to hear from you! My good friend/booking guru Nick Flora is mightily helping out with getting me back on the road and you can email him by CLICKING HERE and we can get to work on putting a show together.

3. I've still got some time open through the Fall and Winter in the studio. From full production to guitar sessions to mixing, if you're looking for help with your recording, I'd love to see if there is a way I can be a part. You can reach me best through email or facebook.

So that's about it for me this week. Feel free to say hello on my site, facebook or twitter. Take care and happy Thursday!

----

So that was the gist of the email.  Also, I'm thinking about offering a sort of songwriting seminar to schools and churches to bring me in to play.  Something earlier in the day where I'd talk about the why, the process, the goals of creative writing in general, songs in particular.  What do you think?  Love to know your thoughts on it before I throw it out to promoters.

All right, off to grab fish n' chips with Eric Peters.  See you soon!

I just signed up for this elusive mailing list. I expect it to change my life and give me loads of information that I don't already get elsewhere.

We need to get you to do a show out here in Charlotte. Especially if we could coordinate it with your family going to see Alison's parents in Durham since it's just a couple hrs away -it could be like paying you to go on vacation. I've got a couple possible venues and definitely have some networking to get a crowd out. [I've actually been thinking about this for awhile]

I love the idea of a songwriting seminar -I think it'd be great to talk about how different approaches can be equally effective [e.g. music first vs lyrics first]

I think the idea of you doing a seminar would be great. I might even try to get my seminary to bring you in to do that.

Our church has had guitar seminars that were well attended in the past. I am going to float this by our music/arts minister.

I would love to go to a songwriting seminar. It would be a great help to a lot of people here in town.

if you ever think about coming to Europe and you're able to stop over Belgium, I would love to organize a songwriting seminar :)

Hey Andy...I was exercising at the gym the other day and I had put some of my favorites on my husband's ipod before running out the door. About 10 minutes into my work out I was blasted back to when my walk with God first began...as I listened to the lyrics "I'm writing a book...but it's got no pages...cuz you were all I had to say" I was just so moved.

As tears filled my eyes from listening to "Everything aka Apron full of stains" I had to get off the eliptical machine and just worship God and ask him to continue to renew that love for people in me. I eventually got back on and continued listening to the album that was the sound track for my life back then and I couldn't wait to get home and see what the Normals are up to now.

I was so sad to see that you guys are no longer together - my family and I have been missionaries in Thailand for a while so we're behind the times as far as the music industry...anyway...I'm so glad to see you are still writing and singing with that awesome instrument you have been given.

Thank you for you music...thank you for that album...it really touched my life and it continues to. I look forward to listening to your new music.

a fan in Texas,
Stephanie
