A few of my favorite things

Yeah, yeah, it was a prank. Many thanks to everyone who believed it.
I was talking with a friend the other day who was telling me that they don't like how negative a lot of blogs can be. He has people post every Tuesday about something positive. I just thought it'd be fun to share some of the good things that I'm enjoying right now, in no particular order...
- My Jazzmaster. (of which I still don't have a good picture)
- The Robert Plant/Alison Krauss record.
- The movie King of Kong, which Derek showed Todd and me on our flight home this weekend, and which was cut short with 12 minutes left because we were landing. We rented it last night so we could see how it ended. Loved it! (hint: if you're at all interested in the greatness of this movie, don't watch the little blurb at the front of their site!!)
- Ella has been piling blankets in a clothes basket, calling it her nest, crawling in it and chirping. It's been very fun.
- I had breakfast at the Pancake Pantry yesterday. (I also had a good meeting there, that story still to come...)
- Got an email from the great Don Chaffer last night calling me an April Fools Legend.
- Sixpence None the Richer is playing shows and recording again. Even better, Will and Cason are playing with them. There is, of course, one terribly obvious thing wrong here: I'm not playing guitar.
- After reading Geoff Emerick's book on his experience recording the Beatles, Abbey Road, which was always my favorite of their records, sounds even more amazing. I kind of can't stop listening to it. I've even been singing some of the second half medley to my girls as I put them to bed.
- I've got the next couple of days to spend writing songs.
Speaking of, I should probably do that. What are some things you're enjoying today?

Wait, so....this pancake breakfast meeting. That was with Forefront, right? I can hardly wait to hear this story. ;-)
Be careful making fun of Forefront or they'll stop sending you those big, fat royalty checks.
Man, I love the Pancake Pantry. Hope the weather was good for the (usually) 30 minute wait that you had waiting outside to get in.
I'm totally jazzed about a Sixpence reunion, too. I'm sad that I'm not making it out to Cornerstone Festival this year and they will be back and playing there again.
The Geoff Emerick book sounded interesting but after reading some of the 1 star reviews on amazon (yeah there are 1000 5 star ones too) I wondered if it was a fairly biased account. How did you find it Andrew? Looking forward to seeing you at Calvin in a couple of weeks.
King of Kong is great. I agree.

Hi! Saw you play last Friday at Grace Covenant Church in Austin. And you totally blew me away - I don't think I've heard a guitar sound that good since...oh, my dad's Townshend LPs. Thanks for a great experience, it was really awesome. God bless!!
- Right now I'm enjoying listening to U2. 5 minutes ago I enjoyed Beach Boys, waiting for the summer to come to Minnesota.

Writing about the conflict in Uganda is btw the most interesting assignment I've had this semester, so I'm kind of enjoying it even though there's a lot of sad stories.
