I hate William Willett

Curse you, William Willett, and your infernal Daylight Savings Time. My children are now getting up at 5:45 am and it's dark when I get home from work at 5:30 pm.

In other news, the Andy and the Andys show Saturday night was really fun. As is the case with shows like this, the bulk of our day was spent in the car. Usually that's annoying, with these guys it was a joy. Here's hoping we get to do more of these shows in the near future.

I decided last night to swap a few pedals around, so I think I'm going to sell my Line 6 DL4 delay, MM4 modulation thing, and a Sparkle Drive pedal. All the pedals are in good shape, all are often used. The Line6 ones will come with my settings programmed in if anybody cares about that. I'm thinking a hundred bucks for the Sparkledrive and $200 for the Line6 boxes. Just shoot me an email and we'll work it out.

I have an early morning session with Steve Hindalong today, which is awesome, and then I'm working with Eric Peters and Ben Shive on Eric's new record. I'll be playing guitar, which makes me happy.

Lastly, would anybody be interested in Letters 1 & 2 on vinyl? Vol. 1 on one side, Vol. 2 on the other. Would this be something you might like to preorder? I'm thinking of getting them ready for the Christmas tour, but I want to make sure I can sell them. Love to know your thoughts. Thanks!

Andy, I agree with you on my dislike of daylight savings time. We have the same problem with my son getting up early. On a good day he'll sleep till 6 or 6:30, so now that daylight savings has ended, that means he's getting up somewhere beteen 5 & 5:30, which make mornings not so fun. I can't wait till he's old enought to go to college...maybe then my wife and I will be able to get a decent night of sleep.
On another note, to answer your question: Although Letter to the Editor vol 1 & 2 on vinyl would be cool, personally, I'd rater have them both on CD. Though vinyl is cool, I still love CD's and would love to have both of these ep's on that format (wheather on one disc or 2 separate discs)...but that's just me.
Thanks for all of the great music.
God bless :)

daylight savings time is brutal to parents of young children. i got home from church, made lunch, and saw that is was two o'clock. i was overcome with naptime joy and then realized i hadn't set the clock in the family room. brutal.

Andy- I'm interested in the line 6 pedals if they haven't been spoken for. Please email me back, and we can work out the details. Thanks, andy

I've been after you to put Letters somewhere physically for a while, so ... of course, yes.

The Andy and the Andys show was awesome. I finally got to meet you after being a fan for all these years. My only complaints about the show are that too few people were there to enjoy it and it was way too short!
I would be very tempted to purchase a vinyl of the Letters EPs.

Andy,
Letters on Vinyl would be incredible, however they are longer than 18 minutes each, correct? I used to run a vinyl label that put out a few records so if you need advice or any recommendations on good places just let me know. Vinyl is hard to move depending on the genre so make sure there is a good amount of interest before pursuing.

And I would be on board for one.

Just checked out the length. Vol. I is just over 21 minutes and Vol. II is just over 18. They will fit, no problem with 33 RPM on each side.

Next you should release "Letters" in cassette format. On one side leave the vocals off so people can sing them as special music in big church, Ray Boltz style!

I love the vinyl idea as long as it's not $50. I loved that Jon Foreman came out with vinyls of his EPs, but just couldn't justify $55...but I'd be a lot more inclined to do it for yours! It's a freakin cool idea.

Vinyl would be cool. If it's affordable, I'd be on the pre-order list in a hurry.

I think a hard copy cd would be equally as cool.

how about letters on 8-track. you know when you skip to side 3 in the middle of the song with no fastforward.

oh how i miss 8-track. :)

and that's a no for me for the vinyl. no record player here.

vinyl would be awesome.

I think i voted for vinyl for Overdressed - that would be awesome too :)

The sparkle drive sure sounds tempting...I wonder how fast I can ebay a couple pedals I need to dump.

dude letters on vinyl would be awesome! I would even buy a record player for it...actually I've been wanting to buy a record player for sometime to get that sweet vinyl sound...and this would be a great excuse!

Yes to vinyl!

If it's affordable...and after reading everyone else's comments - I'm gonna say yes. Though I wouldn't be able to play it except at my parents' house.

And yeah....CD would be cool, too. But I suppose not as much of a collector's item.

That's it, obviously. You just want people to "collect" your stuff.

I vote yes for Vinyl!

hey...i might be in to those line 6 boxes. bring em with you next week if you haven't already sold em.

I think Vinyl is one of those things that everyone will say is cool but when it comes time to buy something, they'll probably buy a t-shirt.

November 4, 2008 | Unregistered CommenterGreg

I would so totally and quickly buy the vinyl. That would be uber-cool. I spin my table about once a week to listen to some jazz greats that are only on vinyl and some Dylan, and Chicago, and a lot of classical and musicals. That record would go straight to the top. :)

Vol 1 vinyl, yes please. Vol 2 vinyl, yes please!

Thanks for the good hang on Sat. You guys rocked it out!

I tend to agree with Greg (comment#21). Vinyl is a cool idea but I fall into the "would probably buy a t-shirt" category. Are there any more of the pedalboard t-shirts left?

Nick:
Ray Boltz is more man than you will ever be. Don't you dare make fun of him or "big church".
Sincerely,
Michael English and Rick Carlisle
