the life we choose

The bags are packed with clothes, cd's, t-shirts, guitar pedals and a few books. They're waiting by the door for when my neighbor Stephen picks me up in the morning to take me to the airport. There I'll meet an airplane who will take me to Chicago, then Omaha.
I've done the dishes and cleaned up some of my more obvious piles and messes. I took out the garbage and the recycle bins. I threw out some nasty leftovers.
I get up in five hours. I'll probably get up twice in between there to help out with Sadie's feedings. I'll probably sleep well on the plane. Thank God for Southwest, the last hope for those of us looking to claim a row in the back to stretch out in.
I'm blessed with a great job that a lot of people wish they could have. But it's the nights before the trips that make the 9-to-5 look pretty great.
Now I'm going to go pick Ella up so I can rock her back to sleep and hold her a little bit more before I have to go.

Andrew, so when are you coming to Canada?
you're the man------keep up the hard work.
the phone is ringing....and Dallas, TX at the other end....they want you to come play a show.
I can relate. I am a school administrator. It is definately more of a 9to5 than a musician but there are weeks on end where my 4 kids go to bed before I get home and I leave before they wake up. You just have to take the opportunities to put your hand on their little head and pray that the life you are living is setting a good example for them.
I have definately made a choice in my profession to give up some of that time with them. I feel like I have followed my calling. I have missed out on some things but I have also made a difference in people's lives. So have you, Andy.
we are glad to have you come to omaha. we were just hit with a blizzard last week, 12 inches of snow, but now Omaha will be hit by Andrew Osenga and that blizzard will seem like nothing compared to when you come through.
Andrew,
When in Omaha, do yourself a favor and have Jeff (or anyone) take you to Zios Pizza (either Old Market or midtown). I think you'd like it, but I'm certain it'd make me jealous and nostalgic. Also, the fries at Runza Hut are incredible. Say hello to the heartland for me...

It seems that no matter what life path we choose there's always the bittersweet. Must go with the territory.
Be safe on the road.
Some of my friends will be at the show Friday night at Grace Chapel here in Lincoln. Unfortunately I'll be flying to Maryland Friday afternoon, so I won't be able to come to the concert. But I've made sure to tell all my friends to be sure to be there. I was so glad to see you doing a concert here! Hopefully it will go so well that you will come back sooner than never and I'll get to be there for that concert. :) Hope all goes well at your shows this weekend. Travel safely.
I'm hoping to make the show on Saturday.
You know... I heard that Dallas was calling for you too.
Or maybe it was just me... :)
Hope to see you here again soon!
Andrew,
How funny would it be if all the Square Pegs tried out for American Idol next time tryouts came near Nashville? I think it would be interesting, do you? :)
Andy, I appreciate your faithfulness and joy. It is encouraging and inspiring.
Oh, and got the awesome shirt. Thanks man.
