Born After Vinyl Show

So I know, I'm a few days behind. But I'm catching up. Josh, our assistant at Sputnik, is a great photographer (who finally got his camera back from the shop) and took some great shots of my set at the Born After Vinyl release show.

The show was really fun. I did four songs. High School Band, Wanted, Swing Wide the Glimmering Gates and "Early in the Morning. Alison sang harmonies with me, very wonderfully, on the new EP tunes.
The other artists there did a great job, but I was most intimidated by the folks in the front row. Phil Keaggy and Jimmy A. Guys involved in a lot of the records that made me want to move to Nashville in the first place.
The event was a fundraiser for Eric Volz, a Nashvillian who is being held in a Nicaraguan prison on false charges. His mom spoke a bit about his story and it was just crazy to hear. CLICK HERE to find more information on him and what you can do to help.

hey andy,
i was the guy running sound at the "Born After Vinyl" event last week...ironically, it was my first time to hear you live, but I must say it was a great set (even though it was a short one)! love your music, and the ministry behind it. Keep it up brother. Hopefully we'll cross paths again...it's a small town for sure.
peace,
blake
wish I had been at that show. I have not seen you all in ages but often think of you. I hope you are doing well. The girls are getting sooooo big! I check Alison's blog daily to see what juicy photos she might leave. Anyway...I just wanted to say hello and let you know that I think you are great! And this is Steph...Adrienne and Alison's friend. =)
peace
i was going to comment on your phil-keaggy-going-bald-wear-a-cap-when-performing setup until i read that phil was there. i'm now guessing it was simply idol-worshiping and not the hair loss that compelled you.
*whew*
I think it is plainly awesome that your wife could do that with you. You can sing and play with the woman you love.
Coincidentally, just yesterday I read Jill Phillips Journal entry about Eric's terribly sad situation:
http://www.jillphillips.com/journal
Then tonight, I was reading an article in the Atlantic about policing in Iraq and the reasons it is so difficult. There are several reasons--among them, a poorly trained force, but any Iraqi police cynically refer to the arrests they do make as the "Catch and Release" program, because judges routinely dismiss cases for "lack of evidence."
Only God's justice is perfect, but in the good ol' U.S.A., we've gotta be thankful that justice is meted out more thoughtfully than just about anywhere on earth.
Damn, posts like this make me want to move to nashville just for the awesome shows that I can't make it to since I live a million miles away
You and me both, Wes.
the golf hat was a good choice
That guitar strap looks rad with the background...
So when do you plan on having everyone who was on Swing Wide in the background for one show as the chorus? Oh I can only hope
anyone record the show? Geof?? Is there any chance you got a live version of Swing Wide?
I was not there. http://upcoming.yahoo.com/user/1753/past/" rel="nofollow">If I attended the event, chances are I taped it.
GFM <-- thinking of taking up a collection for my gas to and from Nashville for as much as people want me to tape shows ;)
