the neighborhood band

Tonight it finally happened. Five professional musicians who live in the same neighborhood got together to mutilate old rock standards at ear-splitting volume. In Paul's basement. And it was a freaking blast.
CDub, Mitch, Paul, Matt and I spent about three hours swapping instruments and attempting to make it from one side of What I Like About You to the other. Good times.
Other songs punished this evening:
When Love Comes to Town (I played drums)
The Weight
Runnin' Down a Dream (I spent a bit of the afternoon to learn the solo. Rocking is a full-time job.)
Johnny B. Goode
I Shall Be Released
Jesse's Girl
Our goal is to someday play a show somewhere. You will all be warned. And invited. And we'll be "rehearsing" again next week.
I can't wait.

Fantastic. I know you guys were really excited talking about this - glad it finally came to fruition. I will be waiting for my invitation to the show. :-)
You just printed the setlist to every wedding reception we've ever shot....when this show comes around, I will be there....
since you were at paul's, i know you put it in red, right?
if you kids get good enough, i'll let you play the neighborhood picnic. ;)
those 5 + tunes by The Band = Face melting awsomeness.
is that two articles in a row with some sort of U2 reference? are you go for the turkey?
that should have said "gonna go for the turkey"...sorry for my weird bowling reference
you had me... and then Rick Springfield came up and you lost me. I can't get behind this. :)
I want to hear the songs that were punished. That sounds smashing.
What a ridiculously talented neighborhood... When Love Comes to Town is such a rockin song, love it.

Andy, you've got to record some of that stuff with the guys.
