Elloree update

Here are the last three e-mails and photos that Rick sent me about the guitars he's building for Cason and me. Enjoy...
Well, there's the last picture of those guitar bodies as bare wood. I sanded those rascals til my arm was about to fall off at the shoulder. Saturday I put the stain on them. There they are. I've been starin' at them, and there's a racial statement in there somewhere. I just can't figure it out yet. Since I took those pictures, I have started putting the first stage of the sealer on them. It is an epoxy coat that soaks in and holds the wood together very well.

I got the necks and fretboards glued together today. The one with the longer headstock is the neck for the 12-string. I haven't actually cut it to the shape I want yet. I want to wait until the machine heads get here. Probably the next pictures I send you will be from inside of the paint house. They're calling for good weather through Wednesday, so I'm hustlin' like a son of a gun, trying to get done with the epoxy coat so I can get them down to the paint house and spray the final stage of the finish by Wednesday.

I got both of those guitars down to the paint house today and completed the finish. I need to let them just hang and cure now for about a week and then I can make final assembly. The pickups arrived yesterday. I had to order the machine heads from a different source, but they'll be here before I get in a bind for them.
