I like to say that I play music for free, but I get paid for the travel. 

That said, for solo shows or house shows*, I generally ask for $1000, travel expenses and a decent hotel room. 

This goes to cover the cost of my time traveling (sadly, not actual time travel) since generally one show takes two days to get there and back. 

If I'm already in the area, or we're able to string two or more shows together I'm often able to flex a bit.

I'm always honored to get invited to play, so please don't hesitate to ask.

Other types of Andy O events:

Full Band Show - I'll bring my Nashville band with me.  It will be loud and wonderful.  The setup is generally drums, bass, keys, and two guitars.  And guitar solos.

Songwriting Seminar - I talk about the writing process, record production, how to create deadlines and make yourself finish what you start, as well as general music business Q&A.  This typically works best as an addition to a regular show, either earlier in the day or the following.

 

*(A house concert, by the way, is just as it sounds.  A concert in a house.  Generally a living room.  It's nice to have a place big enough to seat 40 or 50 people.  It's like having a party at your house where only one guy gets to talk.  Also he sings.  Nevermind, that would be annoying.  House concerts are fun.  Snacks are a good idea.  A bunch of kids running around generally isn't (in this particular case, anyway).  Sound systems aren't always necessary, either, just depends on the room.  If you haven't been to one, you should.)
